122 senior and 26 junior runners turned out at Debdale for the annual Eddie Cheetham Memorial 7K Race. The race was the fourth event in the Manchester Park Series and was as usual hosted by Belle Vue Racers. Numbers were up on previous years, in spite of early unpromising weather. The men's race was won by Matthew Crehan from St Helens Sutton in 23:52, while Emma Jones from Belle Vue was first woman home in 28:16. Kyle Conway from Sale Harriers won the junior event, run over 3K, in 10:05. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and made it a success (and thanks to Tom for the Jaffa Cakes once again ). Close-to-zero temperatures with frozen ground and ice in places meant tough conditions at the rescheduled Hit The Trail hosted by Belle Vue Racers on the 31st January. It was nevertheless a beautiful day at Reddish Vale and fortunately the 87 competitors came through unscathed. Although the rescheduling meant that numbers were down on previous years the event was a great success, with some familiar faces turning out to support the race once again. The race was won by David Hamilton from Southport Waterloo AC in 28:23. First female home was Ros Dunnington from East Cheshire Harriers in 34:50. Race organisation was better than ever - thanks to the marshalls and all who helped everything to go smoothly on the day. Thanks also to The Carousel (AKA Race HQ). Some nice compliments on Runner’s World Events Forum too. Full Results Runner’s World
